The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the KVGCE Open Source Community (KVGCEOSC), organized a hands-on Workshop on Full Stack Web Development to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation of web technologies. The primary objective of the event was to equip students with the skills required to design, develop, and deploy dynamic and responsive web applications using modern tools and frameworks. Full Stack Development is one of the most in-demand domains in the software industry today, and this workshop provided students an opportunity to explore both frontend and backend technologies under expert guidance.
The key objectives of the session were to:
The session began with a formal inauguration in the presence of distinguished faculty members. The dignitaries present included: Dr. Ujwal U. J. (Former HOD, Department of CSE), Dr. Balapradeep K. N. (HOD, Department of CSE), Prof. Venkatesh U. C. (Faculty Mentor, KVGCEOSC), Prof. Santosh Nair (Resource Person), and Prof. Harshith (Faculty, CSE). Dr. Ujwal U. J. delivered an inspiring address highlighting the importance of continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies. Dr. Balapradeep K. N. appreciated the Open Source Community’s initiative for nurturing innovation.
The workshop was conducted by Prof. Santosh Nair, an experienced academician and technologist with expertise in web technologies and software engineering. He guided the students through every stage of full stack development, ensuring that even beginners could grasp the fundamental concepts easily. Prof. Nair shared insights into version control systems, best coding practices, and career opportunities in the field of web development.
The workshop received an overwhelming response with 40 participants selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. It combined theoretical explanations with live demonstrations and individual practice exercises. Key highlights included:
Considering the enthusiastic participation and positive feedback, the same workshop was conducted again on 9th October 2025 to accommodate more students. The second session reinforced key topics and provided extended hands-on practice.
The workshop proved to be an enriching experience for all participants. Students gained a solid understanding of end-to-end web development, including UI design, server-side scripting, and database integration. Key outcomes included improved technical skills, enhanced confidence in open source tools, and motivation to develop independent web projects.
The Full Stack Web Development Workshop organized by KVGCEOSC was a resounding success. It provided students with valuable exposure to one of the most in-demand technical skills in the IT industry. The event inspired students to pursue web development with passion and creativity while strengthening their collaborative learning spirit. The organizing committee expressed gratitude to the management and department for their unwavering support.
